I'd really like to work on developing style and a strong voice in my writing. It's amusing to me that I'm responsible for teaching a bunch of 7th graders these concepts when I tend to have a hard time with them myself. If I had to take the North Carolina Writing Test, I wonder what I would score. I'd like to think that I could get a four, but wouldn't it be embarrassing if I didn't?!
I think that my style on this blog (so far) has been overly formal and my voice is hardly present. Of course, I'm in a pretty contemplative mood. I'm sure that I'll write something up here sometime when I'm in a silly mood. You might eventually wonder if I've spent a bit too much time around 12 and 13-year-olds.
